Hi

Yes I understand stair tool is really a difficult topic.
I suggest you to have a look to this video. It's better if you draw it as a unique stair then you can control the side directly in stair command.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-BUaxPziy8

Turning type option can help you to have the shape that you need.

Otherwise if you are happy with the stair that you have right now you can think to create the side with a beam made with complex profile. It's not the best method 🙂 but it's good if you need just to achieve the design.

Hi

I don't know if I get the point. Can you explain better your final goal? Anyway with edit you can enter into the stair and select just the side and adjust it as you want.

Is your problem just that the model does not seem to match the blue reference line in you image?

If so, that could be because your model is very far away from the Project Origin.

I guess I should have made sure the size of the stair was correct (the blue line) before I started modeling the steps.

Cause you may model and move the steps with no reference to the blue line - but the sides follow the blue line no matter. And if I shrink the model by the blue line I also shrink all the steps. I thought maybe I could shrink the sides, and then the blue line would follow..

Hi Blue,

if you enter in edit mode, working on a top view. Did you try to adjust the size of the stair? If you select one side you can adapt the perimeter of your stair. If this doesn't work for you and you don't want to do the stair from the beginning then you can try to work with a complex profile for your side and you can assign it to the stair side command.

I have now made the stair again, in two different ways.

Still, I need to be able to adjust the side, because it always gets too short on one of the sides.

Are you splitting the stair in different pieces?

Thanks for your answer, yes, I did it in pieces, I could not figure out the mid-part when I did it in one piece. But I will try again. Still, I would like to be able to adjust the sides...This is maybe not a "correct" stair from an archicad-point of view - but I would like it to look like the original, since that is what this project is dealing with. I have now made the sides from morphs, maybe at the end that is the best solution 🙂 (But since I am not super friends with the stair-tool I thought of it as an opportunity to learn more about it 🙂
