i have a complex profile wall with insulation fill. there is a window in the wall and it intersects with a roof. in section at first it looks good, when i do a SEO to get the wall to cut to the roof the fill above the window turns to match the pitch if the roof. then when i do a merge the fill turns grey. what up? see pics

I think the answer to your first question is that the Fill always aligns with the longest side. Before the cut, the two longest sides are the horizontal sides of the Wall portion above the Window. After the cut, that shape becomes a trapezoid and its longest side is the side parallel with the Roof, so the Fill aligns with that direction.

I don't fully understand your second question. You say you are doing a Merge. What do you merge with what?

Hi Lazslo

i merged the wall with the roof under right click >connect

I guess i understand how it happens, but it shouldn’t in this case. I would have thought AC would be smart enough to recognize that the fill above the window is a continuation of the overall wall fill. Not terribly important but adds another step in detailing if it does matter for other fill types in other situations.

I see. That change of the Wall's fill to that gray does not look right. I will report this to GS HQ.
