Thanks
I'm on 10 (macintel)
The only problem with using the detail marker for sectioning off a plan region is that it requires 3 steps and you loose all of your marker settings inside the bubbled region.

<T>condition: floor plan is to large for a standard 30x42 format scale and needs to be broken into 2 sheets. What preferred method is there for creating markers linking a smaller plan ref. a large plan. (ie. 1/8" scale small plan ref. 3/8"scale enlarged plan)</T>

If you're on 11 (which we really can't tell by your post), then a detail marker referenced (linked) to a specific layout view (of the enlarged plan) works well.

I think Richard only meant to use the Detail Tool to create a reference bubble, not to actually create the enlarged plan. I cannot imagine using it to actually create an enlarged plan (even in older versions).

Exactly. In 10, you can only do a dumb marker. One reason I like 11.
