Door leaf isn't cropped by roof (Crop to Single-plane Roof... command)

Here's one I never thought I'd have to post about, as I am not in the habit of trimming doors by roofs. However, I am building the model of an existing attic, where the door is trimmed by the roof (it's in the area where the roof comes low, near the eaves). However, when I check the 'Doors & Windows' box in the 'Crop to Single-plane Roof...' dialog, only the door frame is trimmed - not the leaf itself.

It this the anticipated behavior, or am I doing something wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong just close the door, trim the door and open the door again.

The doorleaf will be trimmed 🙂

Thanks @cuba, I did think to do that, so I had tried already before posting my question here. Closing the door in 3D, then trimming, then opening it again resulted in exactly the same trim.

apparently the door must remain closed to be displayed correctly

Thanks again. This is very strange as a concept. Are you using Connect? or Trim? I understand the former would produce the result of your video; the latter, though, should perform a straight trip, altering the leaf's geometry - even if you subsequently deleted the roof used for the trim, the geometry of the door/wall should remain altered (i.e. trimmed).

The programming just did not take into account that the door can also be opened. funny results

It is rather sad, if that's what the Graphisoft team present as a feature of door-trimming.

Hello @alexliz

Regardless of whether the door can be cut through the roof, what you will really need to do is find out if there is a library object that allows you to modify its shape and if not then create your own custom door. I recommend you take a look at Library Part Maker tool.
