Ling/Barry,

Thank you for your tips. They make sense, and I don’t think it will be that hard to do. I didn’t realize I needed to make different balusters. As you mentioned, the trick is to have the stairs at the same slope. This will be another challenge because they aren’t due to topography.

Again, thank you. I still have a lot to do, so I’ll do it later, but I appreciate your help.

Team,

I’ve created a profile for a vintage handrail look. It works well when it’s on a suspended slab, but when it needs to follow the angle of a stair, the balusters are placed perpendicular to the slab instead of on the stair angle. I need to correct this on a drawing detail. Is there a way to make the balusters follow the angle?

Not without manually coding a baluster... If your stairs are all the same ratio, you could instead model the baluster to match the slope of the rail. You will then have a sloped baluster for the treads, and a flat baluster for any landings.

Ling.

ps. This is if you are wanting your balusters to remain vertical and have an angled top.

As your baluster is not a single vertical post, you will have to create a custom balustrade, which you will have done already.

But as Ling suggests, it will need to suite the slope of the stair.

One side of the 'V' will be shorter and the other side longer, with the top fixing angled to suit the rail angle.

Unfortunately you will need a custom balustrade for every different angled stair/rail.

As Barry mention, you will just need another custom baluster per slope you have. This baluster can then be set by using the Edit Mode and clicking on the relevant sloped section.
