I eyedropper a slab, create an identical slab, place it on design option A. Then when I go to the ed view for design option A the slab is not there. 100% sure the slab is assigned to A, and 100% sure the view is assigned to A

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon Sequoia 15.6.1

Try checking in the Design Option Manager that the option set "A" is really assigned to option combination "Option A".

yes, it is a very basic combination. I believe now that it has something to do with this .pln file was generated on another computer.

Was the View saved only with a stored selection (not all visible in 3D)? You can check the "3D ONLY" panel of the View's settings to check.

If you displayed a selection in 3D, then saved a View, the View was saved only with the selection visible. If you later create any element, then activate the stored View, the newly created element will not be visible because it is not in the stored selection (since it did not exist when the selection was stored as part of the View definition).

The solution in such a case is to Show All in 3D, then redefine the saved View with the current settings of the 3D Viewpoint. Then what the View displays will no longer be limited by selection or Marquee.
