I did this before and nothing changed. Also and don't have any other elements in the project.

Update:

I deleted the slabs and the lines and drew them again - this time using polyline, not line. I have also filleted the corners with a slightly different radius. Now everything looks good.

I have no idea why all of this happened and I hope this problem won't come up again later in the project.

Thank you all very much for help and if you maybe know what might have been the issue - please share!

Hello, I have a problem with geometry in the 3D view.

I tried modelling a simple road and pavement with some curves by drawing it in plan view and filling it with a slab with the magic wand tool and subtracting it from large slab plane.

The edges of the curved part of slabs are fragmented and the top part doesn't follow them well - creating gaps.

I have used this exact method previously in AC27 and AC26 and it worked perfectly fine. The edges were smooth and no geometry errors were visible.

I tried with slab (both simple and composite) and mesh tools.

Obejcts are close to project origin and I have no idea what might be causing this annoying probblem.

Is anyone able to help me? Thank you!

Operating system used: Windows

Ensure that the start and end nodes of the curves on both elements line up. Mismatched curve facetting is generally caused by this.

I don't quite understand what do you mean.

It also occurs when there is just one element - when I'm just drawing a closed shape on a plane (made from a slab) and then simply cutting a hole in it.

P

I would say it is because your model is very far away from the Project Origin.

This is what happens to me if I move it very far from the origin.

When close to the origin, there is no problem.

And how can I check if its the case?

I assume the project origin is the 0,0,0 point marked with an X right? If yes, then my project is close to that point.

Maybe its also worth noting that the file is a copy of a project from AC27. I deleted everything and treated as a template

That could just be a User Origin.

Double click the 'Set User Origin' button to reset User Origin back to the Project Origin.

If it is in the same location then it could be that you have something modelled far away from this origin - not necessarily the element you are looking at.

Zoom to extents to see if there is something else far away.
