Pet Palette Short Cut

Is there a way to set-up a key command to enter the tool options pet palette, select the feature you want and then return to drafting. For instance, I select the line tool and draw a line. I then want to make it a curved line. I would hit the key command to open and enter the line tool pet palette and use the arrow keys to move within the palette until I get the curved line tool highlighted. They hit return to accept and return to drawing. I think this feature would expedite drawing because you do not have to stop drawing, find the palette, move the mouse to to the palette and select the feature you want, then return to drawing. Thanks -Brian

You can move to the next editing option in the pet palette with F and to the previous one with Shift+F, if I’m remembering the shortcut correctly and you haven’t overridden the default keyboard shortcuts. But you have to first bring up the palette by clicking a line.

The F and Shift+F keyboard shortcuts, which are essential for efficient workflow, are currently non-functional in ArchiCAD 28 for Windows. This issue, which has been present since the beta preview, is significantly hindering my productivity and has not been addressed in the final release. The documentation incorrectly states that these shortcuts are enabled. Archicad 28 Help

Just set them up yourself then! 😄

Most if not all users are carrying their tailored keyboard shortcuts from version to version anyway.

It changed to P, SHIFT+P and ALT+P (I did see it documented somewhere once).

It seems the help documentation has not been updated.

As runxel said, you can change it back if you want.

I guess 'P' for Palette makes more sense than 'F'.

I would say the arrow keys would be more logical.

Found it ...

https://help.graphisoft.com/AC/28/INT/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0#t=_AC28_Help%2F005_NewFeatures%2F005_NewFeatures-22.htm

Seems 'F' is now Flip which was 'P' before.

Makes sense, but why change now after all these years.

Barry.

It was probably said the last time this topic came up, but whoever changed the shortcut to P has obviously never used the program, or any shortcut heavy program in general, since moving one of the most used shortcuts to opposite side of the keyboard, especially one with a modifier, is an IQ0 move. Or maybe they use a DVORAK keyboard and AC shortcuts are hard coded to the glyph, not the key...

This is nonsense... come on! You grab the mouse with one hand and strike the keyboard with the other, hands always on the wheel. What is more important, that Flip or the short cut used thousands times a day? Just to pair it whit the F??? CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+F but let the palette alone. Many awful things in 28.
