Great question! I also would love to know how folks work-around snapping issues, which like you said lead to inaccuracies.

Follow-up/related: Is there a way to temporarily disable snapping? For example in Rhino, you can hold ALT which will disable object snapping while being held... Yes, I can setup a button shortcut to disable specific snapping options, but then I have to turn it back on after the fact.

Thank you!

More Control Over Snap Options

Hi everyone,

I’ve been running into some limitations with snapping in Archicad, especially while working on more complex drawings with multiple layers and references.

I’m curious if others feel the same way, but I think the snapping system could really benefit from a bit more control and flexibility.

For example:

It would be really helpful to be able to turn snapping on/off per layer

Also being able to choose what to snap to (only 2D, only 3D, or excluding references like DWGs or hotlinks)

And maybe even having simple snap presets depending on the task (drafting vs modeling, etc.)

Right now, snapping to everything at once can sometimes slow things down or cause small but annoying inaccuracies.

Would love to hear how you deal with this in your workflow, or if there are any workarounds I might be missing.

Operating system used: Windows
