If you are trying to get the information from the zone itself, I think it will just calculate all door and window openings belonging to that zone (touching the perimeter of that zone).

I don't think it is possible to specify interior or exterior only.

If you are scheduling the window areas and the zone they belong to, then you should be able to set criteria for internal or external windows.

You will be able to schedule the related zone name and related zone number, but I am not sure if you can get the zone area, as you are scheduling the windows and not the zones.

Zone schedules - exclude interior window/doors area from the default "total windowed area" parameter

Hello everyone, I have been struggling for hours now. I need your help.

I have set a schedule in which for each Zone I want to see: zone number, zone name, zone area m2, total windowed area on the zone, and window area/zone area.

In my model I also have some window elements on interior walls, and I wish to exclude these from the Zones window area calculations.. Help!

I tried every solution (I've put the interior walls and windows in "interior" position)I only need to "create" a zone parameter that doesnt count these inner windows and doors..

@ links to members, content

I'll try to reformulate better my question. I am trying to exclude specific windows from the zone parameter called "area of the windowed surfaces" ("Area Superficie delle Finestre" in italian) . I can't find anything or anywhere an option to filter which windows the zone computes..Help please!

Thanks in advance, ciao!

what if the windows that need to be excluded from that schedule are on a design option not visible in the schedules view settings? since D/O's exclude all, they shouldn't impact the zone calculation... layers are not an on/off, so putting those windows in walls on a hidden layer doesn't necessarily help... but design options could be the ticket!
