If you check Width stretch, and move those 2 lines into the stud space, it will allow you to grow the wall thickness within that portion of wall.

All 3 of these walls are using the same complex profile, but their thicknesses can be adjusted

I'm trying to make a profile wall to use when inputting field measurements from older homes which we mostly do. Studs and joist can be all different sizes. Plaster can be different thicknesses all over the home.

What I want to do. Have 3 fills. One fill is the framing, and one of finish (plaster) on each side. So just your basic interior wall. What functionality I want is to be able to change the farming from 3.5" to 4" or 3.75", change the plaster from .5 or 7/8th or whatever.

Now I can easily adjust interior walls to different thickness to match what I measure. If I measure a wall at a door opening as 5" I can make it that and make a different wall 5.5" thick somewhere else, but use the same wall.

I can make one skin have a modifier. I'm having trouble with the origin side of the profile. If I stretch that skin then it keeps the blue reference line static and moves the plaster on that side past the blue line. I do not want this. It would make a bunch of walls have strange offset blue line.

Seems like such a simple think to make that I can't get to work right. I tried putting the X and reference line in the middle of the framing in the profile. That solves the plaster getting bigger on the one side except now if I make the framing 5.5 from 3.5 it just goes over and covers the plaster on floor plan.

This is for archicad 28 and beyond. Image is basically what I want to do, but how I show it doesn't work.

I'd rather not have the reference line in the middle, but if that's the only way to make it work then I'm OK with it. I'd prefer to have it on one side or the other. That way when I change a skin size it keeps the finish aligned at least on the blue line side.

I want to be able to have modifiers for each finish as well. You solved my other problem.

My issue now is when I make the finish on the side with the blue reference line bigger it expands the wall past the reference line. I want the reference line to stay put because that's kind of the reason it exists.

There is a bit of a trick here when you want modifiers to control a skin and adjacent skins as well.

Rather than clicking on the edge of a skin (fill), click on a node to place the modifier.

Clicking the edge will allow it to stretch in 2 directions.

Selecting a node will make that act as an anchor and the second point will stretch.

So click the outside corner of your plaster skin and that is the anchor.

Then click the second corner of the plaster skin that you want to stretch.

But be careful here as there are 2 overlapping fill.

Use the TAB key (select multiple elements) to cycle to the correct fill.

You will need to place the plaster width modifier a second time, but this time the second click you must select (TAB) the main wall fill (not the plater fill).

Then do the same for the main wall width modifier selecting the bottom right node and then the bottom left.

Remember to always use the TAB key to select the correct fill as there are 2 overlapping fills.

You must ensure the modifier connects to the correct fill.

For the last plaster width, create a separate modifier and again, bottom right node (TAB) and then bottom left (there is only one fill for the second click so no need to TAB).

Genius. I didn't know that was a thing. I'm sure there's all kinds of new things I can make work now. I never liked how our soffit/fascia profile worked. I can make it work way better with this new knowledge. Thank you
