How to hide overhead objects

How to hide overhead objects in archicad? Even when above cut plane it shows. For example, a wardrobe placed overhead overlaps the one below. If I send to back, the lines just thickens and it is not really hidden.

Unless the object is specifically scripted to, which the default cabinet objects are not, objects will not respond to the Floor Plan Cut Plane. So your option is to hide the ones above in some way. This could be via a seperate Layer, or a Design Option, or but using a unified object so that the top cabinets are part of the same object as the bottom ones.

If using a unified object, what object can achieve this? I want to use modular wardrobe but it can only have sliding doors.

Unfortunately objects do not have an option to show/hide relative to the Floor Plan Cut Plane.

You can use layers.

Create a "furniture 2D" layer, "furniture 3D" layer.

Turn the "furniture 2D layer on in plans and the 3D layer off.

Turn them both on for elevations, sections and 3D views.

Turn them both on temporarily in plan while you are working on the file but make sure the plan view has the 3D layer turned off.

Given you have brought up the Modular Wardrobe object, you are not needing the increased door spacings and butt panels forming a cross? Can you just use the segment option in the standard cabinet object to add your top cupboards?

What about the variable wardrobe and adjust the bottom section height and the handle heights.
