yeah, you're right. I thought you meant to use the Detail Tool to do the copying, not do it yourself.

<T>Just need to ask this before I hit the "wish" forum.
It is about making the independent detail. There should be possibility to copy/paste any piece of plan from story into detail window. Like we can do from section/elevation window when all the 3D objects convert automaticly into 2D drawing elements, don't you think?</T>

You can.... The Detail Tool works in Plan just like it does in section.

Can you actually copy for example a wall from story plan and paste it into detail window without exploding it first? I can't, am I missing some setting?

No, it seems that only objects and 2D elements can be copied this way.

All you can do is to use the DETAIL tool.
This will create its own detail window consisting of just lines and fills.
If you delete the detail marker from the floor plan it will be a truely independant detail with no links back to the floor plan.
Leave the marker and you then have the option of updating if the plan should be changed.
Thanks for clearing this one up. Still I think that for full flexibility there should be possible to paste particular 3D elements manually from plan into detail window, but detail tool works great anyway.
