walls show a single plane

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create a wall in a specific area, but Archicad isn't displaying the wall correctly. The wall appears to be only one pixel wide instead of 300 mm.

When I place windows, Archicad displays them as floating windows, even though the wall should be there.

Does anyone happen to know how to fix this?

There could be another wall or maybe a slab in that same area that is trimming your wall away.

It could be in a hidden layer.

Turn all layers on to see what is there.

Or drag the wall you are trying to place away from that area to see what happens to it, does it show as expected.

Might you by using the Trim to Roof function? It looks like the exterior face of your wall lines up with the edge of your roof (we still cannot view other peoples images at full size so it is hard to tell...). This function will remove EVERYTHING involved that does not fall within the negative/positive extents of the selected roof.

Looking at the screenshot, you can see a Connection Grip for the wall (I think that's its name - it's that little square icon that appears next to the selected wall) so there are some kind of element connection defined the wall is part of: Cropping, Trimming, SEO. Click the grip and you will see the connections. You may have inadvertently created such a connection. I would try to remove the connections one by one to see what one causes the Wall body to almost disappear.

Yeah, from memory walls will sometimes automatically Trim to roofs if you are drawing in 3D.

Hi Barry,

Thank you for your help! I found the issue. The problem was caused by a lower roof that was clashing with a higher roof, which I wanted to trim the wall to. It seems that the lower roof was taking priority over the wall, which caused the issue.

Thanks for your help! I managed to find the source of the problem. There was a lower roof intersecting with a higher roof, which I wanted to use to trim the wall. Apparently, the lower roof took priority, preventing the wall from being trimmed correctly.

Thanks to your tip, I was able to find the solution! The issue was caused by a lower roof clashing with a higher roof that I wanted to trim the wall to. The lower roof seemed to take priority over the wall, causing the problem.
