There are some good stock mouldings in the 8.1 library under 09 finishes. I just finished a courtroom with complete raised paneling with crown moulding and base. I was very glad to have kept the entire room modeled as the owner just changed the layout. Only took about an hour to reconfigure the plan and re-layout the panels and update all of the interior elevations.

<T>I have been asked to show baseboard and crown molding in the interior elevations of the house that I am currently working on. It seems like it would be good to model these rather than draw them onto each elevation as lines. That way I could universally change the moldings throughout the house and regenerate the elevations as needed. Modeling the trim also gives allows to show the moldings in rendered views.

How do other offices show moldings on their projects?

Do you model or draw?

What modeling tool do you use to create the moldings?

Thank you,
All of the interior elevations are generated with the section/elevation tool rather than using the interior elevation tool which we do not feel is fully developed yet.</T>

Profiler works well and costs nothing (well, it costs some fraction of $4k ). For add-ons, ArchiForma (Cigragh).

Yes...You will need to know some GDL to add to or alter the profiles. The object(s) that control the profiles is: "Profile Extruder.GSM" and "Profile Revolver.GSM" in the "MACROS 81\Accessories Macros 81" folder in the ArchiCAD library.
