how do i put a window inside a niche?? where the thinner wall is...when you put a wdw in the thinner wall, ac reads the thicker wall

Are you saying that you have 1 thicker and 1 thinner wall lined up next to each other or do you mean that the placed niche has made your originally thick wall thinner att that particular spot?

In any way, I believe that in the International library you need to pick the niche that resides in the Windows/Openings folder ("W Niche.gsm"). The niche inside Building Element's folder does not operate the same way.

your second statement susanne..thx for responding........
...........i will use the opening gsm, then draw a thinner wall inside the opening
and then put wdw in that thinner wall...then in plotmaker i will delete extra lines to make it look drawn properly.....another one of those so calld 'work arounds' seems to be...thx again and enjoy the weather

It used to be when one unchecked
"frame depth = wall depth"

that you could then set the frame depth independantly.
It would be good to have that back.

you don't need to put a thinner wall to place a window inside the placed W Niche.gsm. Just "throw" the niche in and then place the window inside the niche. That works just fine.
