<T>Hi,
Is it possible to select different element types (walls, Slabs, Lines or circles....) and change their default layers all to ONE specific layer all together in one action vs. doing one by one?
Thanks,
Edit Selection Set from your Edit menu. Ctrl+Shift+T by default. It's also the little hammer thing you see next to the Layer Name in your Info box when you have elements selected.

You can also change their pens.

How's that?

Cheers,
Maybe you should try Options\Layers\Active layer.
See the Manual on how it works.
I recently discovered the little hammer much to my delight. But while we’re on the subject, can someone please explain why we can’t simply select multiple objects types and change their layer in the info box?

Thanks.

i would imagine because the info box relates specifically to one tool at any one time. the 'edit selection set' dialogue addresses the basics of multi-tool elements.

maybe when GS implement a fly-out 'settings' dialogue ala autoCAD 2004 from the tools palette, the 'info' box can be done away with in its present incarnation and become a development of the 'edit selection set' <S></S>and<E></E> element information . . .
yes, but how about the selection tool?

...the 'info' box can be done away with in its present incarnation and become a development of the 'edit selection set' <S></S>and<E></E> element information . . .

I'm not familiar w/ A'cad '04 but I definitely agree with incorporating the element info into the info box. Start, end, length, angle, etc. should become editable fields.

Zeelrich:

The Hammer was removed from the Info Box a while ago so the layer name pop-up could be longer. Just use the Edit Selection Set... command.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
when it disappeared (c.AC20), I added it to my custom toolbar.
