I just tried the global spell check and specific "box" spell check with the @ &lt;BR /&gt;
both next to other type and isolated in string and did not have problem.&lt;BR /&gt;
But project I test on did not have tons of type.(??)&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>Have had this problem for years, get round it by selecting the text you want to spell check. Dont do a global check.&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>tried that and it still crashes. It searches for a while and then quits when I try to ignore or replace something.</description>

      <description>Yes - I have this problem too.  I reported to Graphisoft but no solution forthcoming, though it apparently "only" affects PC versions.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Checking only one story  or view at a time , then saving after each view checked (because checking next view could crash your project &amp;amp; loose your previous corrections) can help - but a painful process.</description>
