<T>Hi,
Is it possible to lock the Z coordinate in 3D with a similar key combination like: Option + x or Option + y?
Thanks,
I do not get it, you mean z + ? or you do not understand my question?
Thanks,

Hmmmmmm - I'm not sure. Can't you just hit the z key and enter a z value?
Now we are talking! I want to get the same functionality that we have in 2D by using Option(alt)+x or y. To start that little dot moving with out drawing a wall (slab, roof...) or after I have drawn the wall to match the height with a remote element hot spot.
Cheers,
I think this is not possible like that. The reason is probably the 3D Window element creation philosophy of ArchiCAD. For each construction element you set its Z height in its Settings Dialog or the Info Box. When drawing in 3D, ArchiCAD will create the element on that plane in that Z height. After creating the element, you may select it and move it vertically (by chossing the appropriate icon on its pet palette) and you can snap to a node of another element to align with it.
A simple workaround to lock, in some way the Z level, is to move the user origin to the desired z level, than you can insert the object which will inherit that level.
