Do you mean from the 3D window? It doen't work. At least for me.
I have to save it as ArchiCAD 2d lines file (*.2dl) and then merge it back to the plan view.

<R>Hi
Is there any way of getting shadows on plans such as in elevations?
I can do a 3d cutaway looking down on the model in plan, but scale is still required along with pen weights would be nice too, mono colour is fine.

If there is any other/ better ways to achieve would be grat to know?

Thanks in advance
This will only give you shadows in your section/elevation. The way Dan described it is the way to do it for shadows on plan.

Cheers.
The 3D window (if you want that effect) should be a 3D cutaway at whatever height is appropriate (1m/3feet?) if you weant a shadowed plan. If you want the shadow fir the site plan, just the top view works.

When in analytic 3D window with the shadows on, use the flat marquee (rightmost option) and copy; choose shadow polygons; paste into 2D.
