Well, if you posted a screen shot, it would be much easier to answer &lt;IMG src="https://community.graphisoft.com/legacyfs/online/emojis/icon_smile.gif" style="display : inline;" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;

You can also try selecting the existing roof, then while in the roof tool ctrl click on the edge of the dormer roof that you want to trim back. This will also extend the roof, if they aren't actually intersecting. Just be sure to ctrl click the edge  that is not perpendicular to the cutting roof, but the edge that is closer to being parallel to it.&lt;BR /&gt;

&lt;BR /&gt;
Select the existing roof, then while in the roof tool, click on an edge of that existing roof. A pet palette will appear - select the 5th button along from the left - it has a minus sign in it. This will minus a portion of your roof out. To specifiy the area you want to minus out, trace one of the dormers, by space bar clicking it. Repeat for the other dormer - Whooshka!&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
The whole procedure can be done in 20 seconds - including the previous step! &lt;IMG src="https://community.graphisoft.com/legacyfs/online/emojis/icon_cool.gif" style="display : inline;" /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;
