Trace Reference disapears inbetween panning

I can only see my trace reference when i pan with the middle mouse button. When i release the middle mouse button the trace reference disappears as if it was not turned on. I could do with the ref remaining on while i work from it..

Any ideas?

Ive tried turning on and off T-ref and changing the T Ref Level with no joy

i dont think it has anything to do with the video driver as trace ref works fine with all other drawings. Its just this file.
