<T>hi, this might be a simple one but i can't seem to figure it out. can some one tell me how to make my elevation show up as a trace reference when i'm in my plan. it seems like i can only use other plans as a trace when in plan and elevation for elevation only.</T>

A way around it would be to goto the settings of your elevation and change the status within [general] from Auto-rebuild Model to Drawing. (dont forget to put this back when your done). This turns the ele into a series of polylines. Copy and paste these lines into a new story level and set this as your trace ref.

Hope that helps
If you have AC11 you can use <S></S>any view<E></E> as a reference. Thats the whole point of it! (Copying polylines is so ArchiCAD 10.... )

Right click on the view you want to use and select 'Show as trace reference'

Study 'trace and reference' in the help file for further information about all the options.

See here for how to use more than one view as a reference.
