Nesting or chaining SEO's can lead to problems. The best practice is to keep them as simple as possible. I have managed some pretty complex results, but I have also pushed them past the breaking point on occasion. One common way to break the SEO's is to use a complex result as an operator.

<T>I have an object (Gable Louver) Solid Element Operated to a roof. I execute the operation ... and every thing looks peachy (3D window and Elevation windows). After opening a few views..... rebuilding from the model..... the SEO gets "lost" on 2 of my 6 louvers.

Any idea why this happens and more important... how do I correct it?

Thanks
Yeah, I've been having a similar problem. I'm trying to SEO the proper objects so my sections and elevations look correct and require least amount of tweaking. Unfortunately when objects 1 and 2 are SEOed, objects 1 and 3 loose their SEO.

Think it's a bug, but what do I know (other than what the problem appears to be). Worse thing is when SEO stops working altogether - my latest development. In 3d, define SEO, and... nothing happens

So... no answer from this side, just an addition to your question. Should I just wait for v10?
No... keeps happening to the same two objects,..... but not the others. I've deleted them and then replaced them with the same problem.

I've taken to re-SEO'ing (new word) just prior to updating to PM.

Can you upload a zipped module file of just the affected elements - better add the part to the zip file too!
I have noticed when putting in skylights some roof edges in the skylight opening are cut horizontal, which causes the roof to degenerate. SEO's are then lost until those edges are changed to perp. or vert. I know that is not the problem with this case, but worth mentioning, I think.
VERY WORTH MENTIONING..
Thanks, Steve, installed a skylight, after 20 frustrating minutes trying to force a wall to re-SEO to the common Roof operator I turned to ArchiTalk did a search, found your post, went back to AC and problem solved!! <S></S>That <E></E>only took me 6 minutes....Another symptom of Horizontality was that while one could view the interior from above the skylight, from below you could only see the underside of the roof.
I have also had problem with SEO's "getting lost" with some modifications I made to a mesh. In my case the operator also had a SEO preformed on it prior to initiating the operation on the mesh. I assumed it had something to do with the multiple SEO's.

I have had similar problems. When I have a mesh of the site and I use thick slabs to cut out the building footprint by using SEO. a few times when opening up the file and going to the 3D window my SEO on the site has disappeared. I haven't changed the mesh or the SEO operator. I don't know why this would happen. It is frustrating when I have to go back and do it again... maybe there will be a fix in the next update or v10.
