<T>Hello again.

I have a 2 storey building with stairs, however in this particular case I don't like the way they appear.
I'd like them to be story sensitive (only some stairs visible) in the first storey and NOT story sensitive (fully visible) in the second.
Is there any way to do this?

If not, I'd probably just go ahead and make 2 separate stairways and then ignore the second one in the section view - which brings me to the question i posted in the other topic: Is there any way to exclude certain objects, elements... from section view only and at the same have them visible in elevations.

Thanks.</T>

Hello flatfoot,

What I do in this case is a workaround. Make a copy of the stair and explode it into lines. Put that on your upper story and then just make it look the way you want on the lower story. I put this stuff on a separate layer for Stairs-2D. I actually do this for all stories so that you can trick it up with handrails etc. that are not visible on the 3D part. I then only have the 3D stair turned on for sections & 3D interior views if required.

A big wish of mine is that 3D stairs to look a lot better in 2D and for a lot more control of 2D output. Some of the add-ons for stair creation are better but I have not found any that are really acceptable.

Cheers,

Yes, there is a tick box in the parameters box that allows the stairs to be story sensitive. It also allows you to set the height of the break line.
This is also Possible. You can set the object you wish to hide on the leyers that can be hidden. I use this on a regular basis.
