<R>There seems to be a problem with the display of custom characters in AC 9, at least on XP.

In August 2003, I shared a tip on escribe:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.escribe.com/software/archica ... 33055.html">http://www.escribe.com/software/archicadtalk/m33055.html</LINK_TEXT>
about using the Windows XP (and 2000) application called EUDCEDIT to create custom characters. These could not be used in AC 8.0 or 8.1 unfortunately.

With AC 9, we can <S></S>almost <E></E>use them!

If you look at the attached screenshot, you'll see the custom character editor with a centerline character shown. (Created by pasting a C and an L on top of each other, rather than drawing pixel by pixel, by the way.)

Next, you see the character map mini app and the text editor window after inserting (copy/paste) the centerline. All looks good so far!

Unfortunately, the last image is of the final placed text ... <S></S>the custom character is displayed as an empty box.<E></E> Double clicking on the text brings up the editor again, and the character looks correct again... until the editor is closed.

We're soooo close on this one...
