topic Copying independent details from one project to another in Modeling

<DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"><T>Is there a way to copy/import/whatever an independent detail from one project to another. Right now, say we have an independent detail in project A and want to use it (but slightly modified) in project B, we have to create a new independent detail in project B then open project A, go to the detail, copy all, and then go back to project B open the empty detail and paste, then create new view, etc etc. Is there a way to import the detail directly, like when importing a view in plotmaker. Click import, browse to project containing detail, select detail from list, done. We have a file set up containing all our "standard" details and can import views directly from that file into plotmaker, but there are many "standard" details that require a bit of tweaking from project to project. <BR />
Thanks</T></DIV>

You could save them out as modules and merge the modules. Not exactly what you are looking for and takes fore thought and organization.

It is not possible the simple way you (and I) would like to. Same as with Section/Elevations. Would be nice though. Care to make a wish?

If you are mining a lot of details from the same file, you can open the source file in BGArchiCAD or a second copy of the ArchiCAD application folder and the copy/paste by switching back and forth between the two applications. At least the copy/paste process is a little faster this way.

That's exactly what we already do, still copy and paste is not the solution I am looking for.
