Perspective View does not show in 3D window

The Perspective view does not show in the 3D window.
I read somewhere else that this may be because of whacked out camera settings?

When I switch to Axo view I can see everythign fine. But in Perspective view it's like everything is a million feet away.

Teh camera settings are indeed messed up, but when I change them, the Perspective view in the 3D window does not change . . .

What's the easiest fastest way to fix this? Is there a "set default" button anywhere (I ask this because I think I know the answer is no).

I've searched the forums, but can't seem to find the answer.

One thing you might try is, in the plan, de-magnify the plan by
double clicking on the minus magnifying glass icon then go
into the perspective settings and see if you can see the position
and direction of the camera. If you can't, de-magnify some more
until you can. Then drag the camera close to your building
and drag the camera direction to point at the building.

The 3D view defaults to the last camera used, "whacked-out" or not.

The fastest way to fix this is to place a camera in plan where you want it, using the camera tool, and not attempt it using the new-fangled ways. (Just bought first pair of Carhartt bib overalls (architect's black) and trying to use hayseed lingo. Carving a corn cob pipe at night to relax.)

Select that camera in plan and go to 3D.

Go to Perspective settings (with building visible in plan view), Shift-click to place camera, Alt-click to place target, make sure camera Z and target Z are similar, hit OK.
