you shouldn't need gravity - configure a slab-type label in the label settings and then select the slab and tick the 'Label Slab' button (found under the slab's 'Listing and Labelling' settings pane)

<R>I'm trying to call out the bottom of the slab for footing dimensions. I know this has been covered before, and I've tried to use the labeling tool discussed here, but when I try to label the slab using this tool, the gravity tool is greyed out, making the label useless.

I'm using Archicad 11, with all the most recent updates... Any ideas on how to do this, or why the gravity would be greyed out?</R>

yes, I can make a label, but I want the information to be linked to the actual height of the bottom of the slab. It works with the top of the slab using the level dimension tool, but not the bottom.

Maybe I'm missing something in the label settings?

Perhaps you should re-read Ben's post. You need to associate the Label with the Slab. We've used a customized version of James's bottom-of-slab Label for a while now -- works like a charm.

I got the label thing to work with the extension found here. Thanks for the help. Now however, when I select the slab and check the label box to create the label, it defaults to "Shape Label JM9" and not "Slab Elev JM9" like I would like it to... How can I change the default label?
