<T>Is it possible to add trim to an empty opening so that it can match the adjacent doors and windows? Am I missing that library part?</T>

Jesse,
You might try carefully checking the parameters of AC 9's
door library to see if there is a parameter
that hides the door panel leaving a jam and trimmed opening.
In an earlier library version this was an option for some doors.
I say carefully because, as I recall, the door part that had this
option hid this option in the parameter list by making the
parameter for "door panel thickness" have the option of making
the thickness=zero which would cause the door panel not to be drawn.
Jesse,
I just looked at one of the interior doors in the AC 9 library
and it has the option your looking for in the "Panel" settings
pull out menu item "Empty". Probably any door or window
has this option.
there is. use the same door as the one next to it and switch off the leaf/panel . . .
