<T>Does anyone have a good method of getting a detail/other marker to point to an enlarged floor plan?

I tried making it an enlarged detail, but it created far more problems than it solved.</T>

Auto-text within notes in ArchiCAD

Use this tip but paste the <DRAWINGNUMBER> AND <LAYOUTNUMBER> codes in the detail marker. You still have to create the detail (to get the marker), but you don't have to use it. You don't have to put it in Plotmaker. I put a big ole "DON'T USE THIS DETAIL AND DON'T DELETE IT!" on the archicad layer in the middle of the detail.

The alternative is to actually place the detail in Plotmaker but off to the side. That is if you don't mind having more details in Plotmaker than you use.

Thanks for the idea, Alex.

If I wanted the detail to point to the right place in Plotmaker, wouldn't I have to actually place the detail there? How else would it get the right layout/drawing numbers?

Tom,

I just tried Alex's method and found it works for any placed drawing; detail, section, or plan.

It's even smart enough to allow separate reference for different frames from the same plan view. As with enlarged plans for example. (I'm not using detail windows for the plans. They are plan views with different layer and scale. The detail window explodes the plan, which I don't like.) I put the autotext gibberish in our old, non-window-making detail marker object and it worked.

Alex, thanks for the great tip. I missed it when you first put it up. We should be able to point at any drawing from anywhere, object, text, list... Turns out you can, behind the scenes. GS, please finish developing this functionality.

OH, OK.... I missed that step, that it was the Plotmaker reference being used....

Kind of a long workaround if you have a lot of enlargements!

Is this on the wishlist already?
