<R>I'm trying to make different elevations from a DWG drawing using the meshtool and the magic wand. But I can't get a smooth transition between the different heights, without manually changing every point. Is the someway to change this in the settings, or do I need a Add-On to sort this out?
there is an easier way to do that thing you want.
you need to bult with your magic wand the whole mesh, the bigger piece. then with this mesh selected and with your mesh tool from the toolbar selected you click magic wand and then every line from your mesh (See the pictures) and then you can select only these lines to elevate mesh points clicking apply to all.

then you add the new points and then you elevate them

and then you must select only the new points (this you can do it by clicking not on a grip but on an edge) and then click the mesh tool and then the grip to see the pet pallette to click the elevate mesh point and click the apply to all.

i hope you can understant from all these
