There are a few bugs, that I understand they are working on for a service pack soon.

It is very good once some of its limitations like number of sides of a profile is increased and few bugs are killed (or limitation) like not showing lines at change of surface, in elevations window.
I'm amazed to hear this. I have never been able to get it to work. I create profiles but they are never actually saved or available to use in objects (profiles along paths). I wrote to CadImage long ago, never got a reply, pestered them again and they finally wrote back and said a new version would be posted "soon" but that was in July of last year. I think since 3D Profiler was bundled with AC 10 subscription CadImage must have discontinued development on it. Shame because it could be good.

If anyone has seen the issue I have where nothing is saved and never shows up in profile manger and has solved it, I'd love to know.

Thanks.

Why would that mean they discontinued development? Maybe it was just a way for them to sell more copies....

It was last updated in December 2005. I'd call that current for a service pack...

Yeah, I looked at the update page quickly and saw the date 02/12/02 and thought they were using the commonwealth practice of month first...

But still, mine is broken and support does not seem to be CadImage's thing.
Has anyone else seen this issue I described above?

Yup, I've been down that road many times with the 3d Profiler from CadImage. I too was creating profiles that were not being saved. I cant guarantee that your problem is the same one that I encountered we'll just have to see right? Okay, here's what I discovered and what I did about it....when I was finally frustrated that I couldnt find my profiles that I created I dug deep into the system folders and discovered that some of my missing profiles were actually saved in the folder where I first downloaded the 3d Profiler. You see, when I downloaded the 3d Profiler, I installed it and registered and did everything accordingly..but...something happened that I did not expect...the profiles that I was creating were being saved in that dowloaded folder that came from a zip file which I temporarily kept on my desktop. And some of my profiles, not all, were being saved where they should be.."in the archicad folder where archicad is installed"...I forget where 3d Profiler installs its libraries exactly but its definitely inside the archicad folder. After discovering this...I simply cut all my profiles that I created that were strangely located on the folder I had on my desktop which I mentioned earlier...and I pasted all of them in the 3d Profiler Lib. folder located somewhere in the archicad folder under archicad libraries most likely. So, what you might want to do is check those cadimage tools folder....your profiles might be there or if your really cant select a single profile when your in the archicad environment, then I recomend you find your 3d profiler lib. folder (should be with the zip file that you downloaded from cadimage), copy it, and paste it to archicad libraries. (p.s. be sure to copy the whole 3d profiler lib. folder...you dont want library parts floating around in your archicad folder. I hope this helps in some way.

I use it and like it. I had a similar problem; could not see the profile parts after I created them. The last command on the bottom of the flyout has a command called "search profile libraries" or something like that. If you copy a profile to it, it won't show up until you run this command.

Have not had a problem with saved profiles actually not being saved. My profile library I keep in a third party library that I load separately. I think it's under "Tools v9". Not at the office computer, memory is not that specific.

The big difference is that Objective places each piece individually while Profiler creates one object that runs along an entire path.

Profiler can also curve, while Objective cannot.

That said, Objective has a lot of non-profiler tools that are really amazing.
