Your door handrail can be positioned little bit lower

<R>See attached image. I tried to make a simple cabinet door where the wood panels are in two different directions. Looks good with internal engine and when the door panel is rendered alone but when I make a custom component of it the texture resets...
Why is it so?
BTW, I used the slab tool...</R>

You must have two elements for your solution. in order to indicate the separate direction.
In your cas you have just one elements.
Or you can try with LW to choose "internal engine material (?) fromdown.

I have actually 5 elements. It's modeled the same way I would build it IRL.

You have run into a limitation of how the materials are applied to an automatically created library part (ie saved from an ArchiCAD window). There is a way to fix this in the GDL script but it is a fairly advanced technique (using the COOR statement).

You can fix it in the "Save As" approach by making two materials - horizontal for the rails and vertical for the panel and stiles. The one you are using will serve as the vertical material. Just make a copy and rotate the texture map in the material settings dialog.

Is it really a custom object component? It's when I use the door component as a door panel on a kitchen cabinet the texture direction resets. Was ist los?
You need simply two or three kind of materials. You can give different direction for every material.
You can control the angle through LW-materila.

Thanks!
I think it's also depending on which element I use... I will do a thorough test later on. I just tried using the mesh tool for creating beveled pieces to get a more realistic looking panel and it works all the way.I just need to figure out why I can't move the handle vertically...but after that I'm pretty in love with this new possibility to become a kitchen designer...
Bitte!
I know but I can't manage to change the vertical position. It worked the firts time yesterday and I think it was only once...and then I havent been able to move it vertically. I will have to spend an evening pass on this to figure it out.
Basically I know how it all works.
Haha..thank you...or thank you AC10 out-of-the-box rendering abilities. I'm pretty good (...) at rendering but I want to do most of it as close as out-of-the box as possible in order to learn my customers how to do it as well. I think I'm gonna write a small tutorial abou using the mesh tool to create nice looking doors/panels. Maybe some night when there's nothing to work on with the house, no lawn to mowe, no Midsomer murders at the tele...
