AC 10 - No Text in Label tool

I have something interesting going on; when I use the Label Tool I am able to make beautiful leaders with spectacular arrowheads, etc. The problem occurs with text - no text input box appears!

The only way I can make text appear is if I select the just-created label (which shows a tiny text box with only one space in it), press the label tool, then edit the one space contained in the text box by adding text.

This problem occurred after I used the label tool and found there was default text entered that I did not want - I went into the tool dialogue, deleted the default text, and the problem began.

I've gone through every aspect of the label tool dialogue box, with no results.

Because of this problem, I updated AC to the most current version yesterday - the problem is still there.

Go to the text input field of the label tool, tool box. Click into the text field and then hit the left arrow on your keyboard (hit it a couple of times). This has been a common problem for us since V8. Common sense says if you simply click into the text area (in the tool box) that it then, should work. But for some reason, hitting the left arrow is required.

Dear Dr. Lau;
I did what you suggested, and to my surprise I found that there was one little blank space floating in the text input box. Once I backspaced through the space and eliminated it, the behavior of the label tool returned to normal.

Seems pretty obvious in hindsight, but we all know that panic puts the mind in an altered state - one not conducive to rational thought!
