Interesting... I have to switch between several of the views to get the "re-set". Hard to believe no one has written about this before, but a search of the forum produced nothing.

Does this qualify as a bug? Does it do this in release 11 as well?

Parallel models

<T>When I choose the front elevation option in parallel projection from the 3D projection settings dialog, the little "house" that show what the view will be is very distorted, and the X, Y, Z angles are really crazy: -15, 35, 180.

The little "house" is paper thin with no depth. This is a recent development. In the past, when I chose front elevation from the parallel projections, I might have to rotate the camera to get the true full front elevation, but now I have a very hard time getting it at all.

It seems like the settings need to be "re-set', but I have no idea how to do that, nor how they got messed up in the first place.

Any suggestions? This happens it appears with all the absolute parallel views (elevation, top, etc.).</T>

Hello Rip,
I played around with some of the settings for side view and
got some weired effects some of them like you describe.
I found that if I set the view type to dimetric axonometric
then changed it back to side view the default values reset
and the side view looked correct again.
Hello Rip,
I take it you were able to reset the values for all of the parallel projections.
Do you know how those values got changed from their defaults.
I don't know if this can happen in AC 11 because I don't have 11
or if it can happen in previous versions because I have never
tried to change the default values for any of the parallel projections.
in any version.
WHOA! I am also surprised to see this hasn't been mentioned before.........a ver 10 oddity?

I have been experiencing something like this; It seems random. I change views from perspective to orthogonal and the proportional geometry, x, y, & z are off. Usually my x axis is stretched, but occasionally the model will be skewed, like a mistake in photoshop. I haven't had time to investigate, so I just press on, go to the preset views, select one, usually from top left, it's all good again, and then rotate back to the view angle I want from there............carry on.

When I get buried with work I am only thinking of forward motion only, if the program acts up or strange, I tend to only be interested in a "quick fix". I'll try and pay more attention to this and see if there's a pattern........

This IS VERY strange. It takes several back and forths on other orthogonal views to get the pure elevation one to behave properly. Sometimes, the frontal elevation one is so skewed it looks like a flat piece of paper with an elevation drawn on it, with the paper tilted from front to back. There is no depth to the model at all.

i have no idea how/why/when this started happening. I do know it happens on all my drawing files, not just one. It is really frustrating as I happen to use this function quite a bit with signage and play structures I design.
