Cut walls in floor plan cut plane

Hi. Im just starting to use the Floor Plan Cut Plane on a house with lots of dormers. I got the roof to work fine with projected cover fills over walls etc below. But I cannot find a way of getting a true cut view of walls that have been cut by solid element operations or trim to roof. Am I missing something or is this to be resolved in 11? Sorry if this question has come up before, I couldnt find anything in search or wikki.

nop!!

till now nothing says that this is solved in AC11

but u can create a 3D view on using cutplane option.. but its just a 3D view!! not a real plan!!

Thank you guys, saved me a lot of time trying to find non-existent settings. AC is a great product, been using it for 15 years, but I have to say the more I have worked with the fpcp the more I have found it is dangerous because it does not give a true cut plane through the model. Even roofs do not show correctly: eg if you make an opening in a roof and make the edges anything other than vertical it shows the cut view incorrectly.
I suppose its better than nothing (but not much!) but requires lots of time messing about with patches to make the plan look correct.
What I find strange is that this feature should work properly because all elements would show correctly by using GDL commands to project the 3d overhead view PROJECT2 command with a CUTPLANE at the fpcp level. If it can be scripted for library parts why cant graphisoft implement it globally?
Here's hoping AC11 resolves some of these issues!!

Yes FCPC is a pain. The result of accumulated improvements on top of some very old methods. Basically the floor plan has always been a schematic representation and not a true view of the model.

The addition of the complex walls required something to be added so we got the FPCP. The true live plan view of the model is still a ways off and poses some serious issues.

Floor plans are inherently schematic and are not necessarily well represented as true 3D views. In fact the sections and elevations could do with some more schematic features such as symbolic representations of some things (rather than projections of the model), auto labeling, room names, etc.

I wish the FPCP had been better developed, but I also am sympathetic with the difficulties involved.

I agree Matthew, but would it not be sensible to be able to control the type of projection in plan and section between symbolic and 'true 3d projection' for every element so you get what you want not just what you're given! ( ie tab between 2d symbol reprisentation and PROJECT2 for critical elements )
This halfway house between symbolic and 'pseudo' real horizontal section really needs alot of work and careful thought by GS but imho it needs to be priority numero uno because it clearly is a mess at the moment, and this isn't some periferal issue. What could be more serious than inaccurate, confusing and misleading plans?
