topic Help with 8.1-9.0 and dwgs in Modeling

<T>On very infrequent occassions, I need to access files created with 9.0. The person who created the projects has moved to another company. V8.1 was installed on my system and I have a key, but not for 9.0. Is there a way to access the files and/or import into AutoCAD dwgs. The demo version of 9.0 doesn't let me use any pertinent commands. Is there a way to do any of this legally/within the license my company has for 8.1?
Thanks for any help you can provide.</T>

could you have your friend save them as ArchiCAD 8.1 files, or is this not a possibility? if hes willing you can just open the file in 9.0, file->save as->ArchiCAD 8.1 solo project (*.pln)

Other than this, I don't have any ideas, as I've never had to move backwards in file format, so I'm not sure how ArchiCAD handles it

HTH,
