Yes, AC11 will help you with inserting multiple stories in one go, but even AC11 will not have a solution for story height differences.

The guiding rule here is to have all files that have any hotlinked module relationship with one another have the exact same story height structure. This applies to the case where you need 3D that shows all buildings.

If you need all buildings shown in 2D, you might want to consider arranging e.g. the ground story plans of all buildings properly on a Layout. So, while they are still coming from different files, drawings generated from them are placed at the correct postions on the Layout so you get the output you need.

<T>Hello!

I am currently working on a site which contains various buildings and separate areas.

To increase speed and managability, each individual building or small clusters of smaller buildings exist as and individual plan.

What is the best way (any way) to now plot or place these files onto the site plan?</T>

Also.. the individual plans are not finished - so if would be required to unpdate them as the project continues..

Use Hotlinked Modules.
Have a Master file and place these buildings in that file as Hotlinked Modules.
The Help file will tell you how to do it.
If you are on AC11, you can do one building in one step because Hotlinked Modules are now multistory. In AC10 and previous versions they had to be inserted story by story.

There is potential problem: If not all of you building have the same Story Heights, because the stories of all inserted hotlinked modules will have applied to them the story heights of the file into which they are placed.
Hope this explanation makes sense.

Thank you so much for your reply!
I thought Hot Links were going to be the case..
I am in version 10 still.. and i think i about to run into to a few serious issues with stories!
