Elevations from the model

We seem to have a problem when we update our elevations from the model it come up with an error message:
Error in Analytical shading method
Error Code-108 ( not enough room in heap zone)

When we turned off the shading in section/elevation tool box it finished rendering obviously without the shading. we did not have this problem before, and we have not changed anything drastically.

I would appreciate your help!

Please post your AC version number and build number (Help | About screen ... you should be on build 1965 if you are using 9.0) and your platform (Mac OS or Windows). Not that I have an answer, but some context is needed for anyone to help. (A screenshot of your elevation without shadows might be useful just so people here have a notion of how complex your geometry is.)

Do you have vectorial 3D hatching and/or vectorial sun shadows turned on?

If so, try turning them off and give the update another go. What might be happening is that you don't have enough physical memory to compleat the task.
May be you could try increasing you virtual memory as well and see if that helps.

Our Archicad is the latest version of 9.0 -build 1965. Yes if I turn off vectorial shading it works. we do have a complex building to be rendered

Set the minimal swap file to three times physical memory; what is the physical memory, BTW?
