I am sad to say that this feature was lost in the transition to 8.0. But before you rage at Graphisoft's careless disregard for those of us who came to know and love this feature (it has (or rather, had ) many uses beyond ceilings) bear in mind that they were only submitting to many user requests (Windows users have this thing about using the escape key to cancel).

There is a sorry substitute in the form of the single "S" key (unmodified) which will toggle through all three snaps in sequence, but no replacement (yet) yet for the elegant temporary toggle of the escape key.

<T>Where is this little tool the one key to snap? Invaluable for acoustical ceilings.
Switch origin toe the grid’s (fil's) origin. Press the esc and place all lights sprinkler heads diffusers. To pick up the right object just release esc.

I cannot believe this I hope someone will point me to the way to restore this function</T>
