Anyone in the know is gagged by an NDA. (non disclosure agreement)

However it is fun to rumour, so here goes :-

ArchiCAD 8.0 came out in approx Dec 2002 (Int and US anyway).
They had hoped to have an upgrade cycle of every 18 months.

However that seems to have been thrown out of the window as 8.0 was generally considered to have been release too early.(too buggy)

My vote is that we shall see version 9.0 in December or so. However this is purely speculation, anyone else want to speculate ?

Thanks for at least trying to guess. I know there have been 1/2 versions in the past, but everyone seems to be talking about v9. So ... I guess that cat is out of the bag. Anyway, I hope it will be a great upgrade.

If history is any indication, Revit 7.0 will be out in the beginning of December, around the time of Autodesk University. It would make sense for the AC developers to try and match that.

IF memory serves me, Revit never had 4.5, 4.55, 5.1, 6.5, 8.1 and so on ... ArchiCAD had 8 distinct version in the last 8 or 9 years, and the numbering would double digits long time ago if they did not go for decimals before ...
No, there has been 'point' releaes in between the full releases. Revit has had 4.1, 4.5, 5.1, and the most current is 6.1. The last two years, Revit has had a new 'full' release right around December. 5.0 two years ago, and 6.0 last year. Speculation has 7.0 coming out this December.

Not sure what to expect from 7.0, although there are plenty of rumors. There is talk about a full-blown structural package, with analysis, to be in 7.0, but thats pure speculation at this point. Those who known, are tight-lipped due to Non-Disclosure Agreements.

ArchiCAD 9: it begins the betatesting!!!
We signal some of the more interesting, specifying that the distance of betatesting is along and some things could be modified as proceed.
But while we can makes an idea us of the new garment that will have the new program:
• possibility to print the list of the shortcut
• new instrument of selection (magnetizes) that it allows to select the elements without need of cliccare on the edge; the shovels info extension the number of the elements selects to you
They are supports the TAB, the riquadratura of the text with management of the distance of riquadro and retino of background of the block the text to you. The text gestibile fixed or is scaled also in ArchiCAD. Management characterizes them of the ruotato text or to fixed angle (is worth also for the labels and the stamp zone).
• combinable hairnets of surface to solai, roofs, lands and zones
• meander it works more under OSX and not appaggia to classic
• new motor of rendering with support of sweet shadows and reflection: implemented one risen of total lighting system with motor raytracing
• support DWG 2004
The version under MacOSX would finally turn out particularly agile and fast, is $R-all'.apertura that to the loading of the bookcases that, finally, in the management of the 2D and 3D.
