Ashley:
I found this part in the Stairmaker Handrails folder (in the 03 Concrete folder), so I guess it is intended to be used as a part of Stairmaker, and not on its own. The length parameter is greyed out, but if you click on the "General Parameters" triangle in the Parameters section, there is a parameter "Length of Rail Axis" which can be used to change the length. I noticed that the greyed out length parameter shows 1 foot longer than this dimension, so you will need to experiment to see which dimension is the true length of the railing.
Maybe for propping a kennel or stable.
If you place it on the plan and select the railing, some diamond hot spots will appear, which by selecting them you can modify the parameters graphically or numerically.
1. Grab the middle hotspot at the end and drag with arrow tool. Some railings have stretchy hotspots at the position of the last post

2. Measure the distance and change the length in parameters; check whether the overhang at the ends is included or not

If the standard curved railing fits design wise, the "only" thing you have to do is to set the parameters right.

If not, you can build your railing out of curved walls and slabs and objects, save it as object or a module if it is to be redefined/refined later.
