topic Trouble with Zones in Modeling

<T>Hello,

I am having trouble with my zones. I created the building and zoned the rooms. After saving it (and creating views, etc.) I tried making new zones but I keep getting 0 (zero) in the zone stamp for area.

What I noticed is that the Calculated Area (Zone Selection Settings>Area Calculation) is zero, whereas the other areas (Measured Net Area, Remaining Area, Measured Gross Area) are normal (Area Subtraction is zero).

Please help,

Thanks.

Darko.</T>

What is the zone height and what is the height the zones are reduced at?

Sorry. I just noticed that after creating a zone with 100% area reduction on, you cannot change this in the zone selection settings. You have to make the zone all over again with area reduction off.
Your reduction check box is at 100%; try uncheking that!
...but it wont let me. I go to the zone selection settings and uncheck it, but it does nothing. I update the zone and go to the same zone selection settings, and it is still cheked! (see attached pics in prior posts).

Anyway, what I noticed is that after I copy my project into another project map (story 1 to story 2 for example) the zones function as normal for some time. After some time (I havent noticed what triggers it) I get the 100% reduction again, and cannot turn it off.

Thanks for the help.

No. But it seems that the latest patch solved the problem. After patching it, it worked "as advertised"
Think Ill crash this party rather than start a new one....

I am setting up a drawing for building control, and want to display the occupant capacity and Building Control designation. This is linked to the floor area and so would like to display it within the zone info box. I can add it to the user defined list within the dialogue, can get this to show on the drawing / print??

Cheers
If I understood correctly - you want to add new parameters to the existing zones? In that case you have to edit the zone stamp object that you are using and add the new parameters.

It would help if you posted a screenshot; regulations are usually location specific and therefore not all of us can understand what you are talking about ...
