On a column tool column, you mean? You probably need to create the base and capital as objects on separate layers. Its a perfect job for the profiler, especially of you have something specific in mind.

But your first stop should be the ArchiCAD library under Building Elements/Structural elements, which has some complete classical columns, ready to go, if you're not too fussy, entasis and all.

Columns in the Library are worthless unless you are using them at the default height. If you change the default height, capital and base will scale accordingly and be out of scale to the column. This is a serious miss by the GDL designer who did not allow discrete parameters for base/column/capital.

Cadimage offer the Accessory Pack for Walls, Roofs and Foundations. The Accessory Pack also has a very rudimentary Column Accessory Tool. The Cadimage website for the Accessory tool is:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://store.cadimage.co.nz/home.php?pa ... ductID=168">http://store.cadimage.co.nz/home.php?page=products&productID=168</LINK_TEXT>

I've asked that Cadimage add some features to this tool. At a minimum the column tool should allow the user add profiled bases and capitals to columns. To make the tool even better it would have the ability to create dentals on the column capitals and bases. Another feature would be to have the tool be able to create flutes on the columns. If the tool could create tapered columns would also be useful too.

The folks at Cadimage have been very helpful with tech support. I'm hoping that they would also be willing to develope a tool that was requested by ArchiCAD users. Perhaps there is also another developer that could make a tricked out column tool?
