<R>I'm just curious as to how I miht be able to model something like the wind turbine on this page... I had no luck with the roof tool, and I'm stumped

http://smithgill.com/cleantechnologytower.htm

Is there some tool that would work perfectly that I'm completely missing? Any help would be fantastic! </R>

That's the "Regular Profile" object from OBJECTiVE. It can be transformed to that shape with the Bend and Offset tools, or the required settings can be entered directly (attached image).
See <S></S>http://www.encina.co.uk/objective.html<E></E> for more info (or a demo).

Try this thread. The spiral rail part is listed near the end.
