1. Draw the letters with lines and arcs (no splines or beziers).
2. Copy and paste into a new symbol line type.

How to create a line with text linetype?

<T>I noticed that there are certain linetypes that contain text, like a Drain line, which has the line and a letter "D".

Could someone guide me in how to create a new linetype with text, like the Drain line, except that I want to use different letters.

Your help will be appreciated.
There is another way which provide you with more flexibility (in this case you can use any fonts installed on your computer).
1. Use the 3D Text object in the ArchiCAD Standard Library to compose your needed text.
2. Insert it in the plan (the roration X angle must be 0° and you have to enable the 2D detailed view)
3. Select this object and explode it
4. The explosion will return you a group of lines
5. Select this lines and transform them into your preferred linetype
