Angular building - How would I model this in Archicad?

Hello, I am a newish Archicad user, and I have made this model in Sketchup. I was wondering what the best way would be to model it in Archicad. I cannot seem to find an easy way to slant floors and walls to create the shapes.

Slant walls by giving the slant angle in the info box or settings dialog. for slanting floors use the roof tool.

Thank you for your quick reply! Would the correct method then be to trim walls' top and bottom to the angled roofs / "floors" ?

Yes, if you don't plan to change their position excessively. If you do, better to use SOE (Solid Element Operations) with the floor as operator and the walls as target. The trim will then auto-update when you move any part.
However, this taxes the computer more, so if your project is big, you might want to use the Trim operation later. It is also updatable but you have to do it manually.

A lot of these "How would I model this in Archicad?" questions show really difficult curvilinear masses or blobs that are pretty well outside the ken of ArchiCAD but this one is very well suited to AC and Thomas' suggestions are on track.

Always though, the tricky thing with models of this type is how to represent them convincingly and literally in formal 2D floor plans. Here, the overly hard-to-use Floor Plan Cut Plane tool is recommended as is an abundance of 3d views. Maybe a keyplan/section view that shows where the horizontal slices are being made would help too.

Different buildings require different approaches to documentation. Good luck.

3D Cut in Top View isn't too bad either.

You could import the Sketchup model into ArchiCAD to get an idea of the elements involved and their geometries (although it is best to ultimately model in AC).

by the way .. now that we have slanted walls , shouldn't SU plug in stop translating every thing as roofs?

great! thanx a lot for all the advice. I think i've got the hang of slanted walls and using roofs. The thing I m really using a lot with them is the Solid Element Operations, it really helps that it's almost real-time updatable, the trim to roof command seems work less effectively.
