topic MacAC 10 works on IntelMac better than MacIntel AC10 in Modeling

<T>Hello Everyone,
I just had my first AC10 crash and it happened
when I opened a particular plot layout. No matter
what I did it would crash the program. I sent the
token bug report 5 times and heard nothing.
Then I decided to try a machine running AC10
on a Imac with the Motorola chip, instead of the
Intel. It worked. The file opened and everything
was fine.
So my next step was to save it and try to re-open
the file on the Intel Imac thinking it was fixed.
No such luck, it crashed the program immediately.
My only other step was to load the Imac AC10
designed for the Motorola chip onto my Intel Imac
and see what happens.
It works glitch free! In addition to that I can now
save back to AC9 which I couldn't do with the Intel
Mac version of AC10.
So riddle me this, Why have 2 programs when 1
works fine on both machines?
The evidence for me shows that the Intel Mac
version is worse than the Mac version
on the very machine it was intended to run on.
I think I just solved a lot of my day to day problems.
Thank you for allowing me to share, sorry for the lengthy
messege.
Take care,

i think the "evidence" you're putting forward might be a little limited in its scope, no? sounds like a corrupt layout to me. the mactel version of AC is far superior to it's PPC counterpart both in terms in speed and stability! there are also some functions of the PPC version that rosetta doesn't support - keep using it and you will not only be working slower than you could be, but you will certainly find a plethora of stability issues.

you think GS would invest resources in producing a mactel archicad if it wasn't necessary?!

delete your layout from the navigator and recreated it. do you get the same problem? if so, let's have some more details and maybe we can help solve the problem properly, eh?
While I agree with Ben on ACMactel performing better on Mactels, I think this sounds like you've found some bug in ACmactel. Please report it and supply the files in question to your reseller and ask them to report to Graphisoft.
