<R>I've not used zones before, but I have ranted about the pathetic AC manuals which are useless to me and my feeble mind for this. I used the auto recognition method to define the area. The label I defined shows on the plan. In the Zone Selection Settings no area calculations are shown. The Zone Stamp area of the dialogue box states "Not avail. in loaded libraries". I have the AC 8 library loaded. What the *bleep* am I missing?? </R>

My subject title was indeed well chosen. The AC 8 library had not loaded. So now that I'm on track, what do you mean by "which stamp"?

Thanks for your reply.

You have to define the zone categories and the zone stamp associated with each category before trying anything with the zone.

Once the stamp is chosen by the category, you can tweak the details of the specific stamp previously chosen...

I hope it will be of more help than the manual

Got it...thanks. Another question: I've chosen Zone Identifier and selected to show the zone name. In the preview window of the dialogue box the stamp shows correctly. However, when I place a zone stamp, the zone category shows instead of the name. Is this a known bug or am I still unclear on the concept?

You need to set the library part to not show the zone category (either before placing it or modify it afterwards). There's a checkbox in the library part you can toggle to change this.
You can also open the pdf in Preview and export it as jpg. I use a contextual menu called QuickImage (freeware, from VersionTracker, AFAIK) which gives you a pop-up that converts formats and size of image etc. very quickly & easily (I'm using 10.2.8 at the moment, not sure about 10.3).

But back to the subject - sorry, I can't really think of any other simple solutions, not such a "Stupid Question" after all Perhaps it's due to the definition of the Zone Category Geoffroy mentioned a few posts ago?
Good luck. Kenny.
Yes - I seem to remember having that problem earlier this year. Gross area doesn't do room names, because it's assumed to contain overall zones, not specific ones.

That's what I concluded, anyway
